Saraki hands over N2.9m reconstructed shops to traders


Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Monday handed over reconstructed 24 shops which were gutted by fire at the Ojatuntun market, Baboko, Ilorin to various traders.

These shops were reconstructed by Saraki at a cost of N2.9 million. Saraki, was represented at the ceremony by the Director General of ABS constituency office, Hon. Abdulwahab Issa at the hand-over ceremony.

"And shortly after that he came personally on January 24,2016 to see things for himself. Aside from donating N500,000 to the victims he also gave a pledge to reconstruct it and make it better than it was.
Saraki also said that many employment opportunities , provision of infrastructure, boreholes and rural roads have been accomplished by him since assumption of the number three position in the country.

"Very soon we shall be inviting you to the commissioning of classrooms in Ilorin South and Asa Local governments and also a bridge that has been constructed at Adisco/ Gaa Imam area that were facilitated by our leader ".

He therefore solicited for their continuous prayer and support for Saraki . The DG later handed over the shops to each of the beneficiaries.

The chairman of the market association, Alhaji Abdulrazaq Lasoju who was flanked by Iyaloja, Alhaja Sadiat Adibara thanked President of the Senate for his gesture that has wiped away tears from their faces and ensure that they will be able to feed their families.

He called for financial assistance for all the affected traders to enable them raise their businesses.
